A Quick Thank You and a Look Behind the Scenes

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who liked, shared, and followed after the Monta Ellis video posted on TikTok and YouTube Shorts. I genuinely appreciate the support and the interest in these videos. It has been great to see so many people reconnecting with these games and moments.

I have also received a large number of requests for certain games to be uploaded, especially on Facebook. I appreciate that interest as well. However, I want to take a moment to explain what goes into getting these videos online, as the process is far more involved than it may appear from the outside.

At the moment, this project is truly a labor of love. I am not making any money from these videos… yet. Everything being shared is done on my own time, and the process requires a significant time commitment.

Here’s a link to my YouTube Channel Playlist giving you options to view content by year or school. Please let me know if any of the games are listed under the wrong season. I hope to better organize these options on the website with the help of some tech-savvy friends.

To give you some context, I have thousands of DVDs. I have only recently finished organizing them by year, a task that about a year of working on them during my free time. Even with that organization in place, locating a specific game can still take time. That is why I ultimately decided to start from year one and work forward chronologically, uploading games as I go… when I have time.

Once a requested game is located, the work is far from finished. On average, it takes approximately an hour and a half just to convert a game from DVD to a digital format that can be uploaded to YouTube. If there is a faster or more efficient way to do this, I am always open to learning it.

Even then, not every conversion is successful. Some DVDs have been damaged over the years, and some original recordings were not rendered properly, which can prevent a full game from converting correctly.

All told, getting a single game online can take anywhere from two to two and a half hours — assuming I have the game and the conversion process goes smoothly. This is all being done while also working a full-time job, where a 60-hour work week is considered a slow week.

To those who have been polite, patient, and supportive with their requests, thank you. This post is not directed at you. It is simply meant to provide transparency and context for those who have been frustrated by the pace of uploads. I am doing the best I can and will continue working through the games as time allows.

Thank you again for the support and understanding.
