The 2025 MACCC regular season has reached its breaking point. Week 9 delivered defining results and sharpened the championship picture on both sides of the state.

Week 8 of the season delivered defining results that set the stage for a high-stakes finale. Only one week remains to determine seeding, home-field advantage, and momentum heading into the semifinals.

In the North, Northeast delivered the upset of the week, routing ICC 41–14 in Fulton. The Indians, once in a three-way tie for first, fell to 4–2 but remain mathematically alive. Northwest dominated Holmes 45–10 on their Homecoming, while East Mississippi beat Mississippi Delta 28–13 on the road.

In the South, Co-Lincoln solidified its status as the division favorite with a 28–3 win over East Central. Gulf Coast rolled past Coahoma 56–3 in non-conference play, while Hinds bounced back from an earlier loss to crush Pearl River 56–13. Southwest Mississippi edged Jones 26–23 on Saturday, continuing its role as a spoiler in the South standings.

The final North Division standings hinge on Week 9.

If East Mississippi and Northwest both win, they will share the division title, with East Mississippi earning the No. 1 seed due to a head-to-head victory.

If Northwest wins and East Mississippi loses, Northwest takes the division, and ICC secures the No. 2 seed by virtue of its season sweep of East Mississippi and Holmes.

If ICC defeats Northwest and East Mississippi wins, ICC takes the top seed through its head-to-head win over East Mississippi.

Finally, if ICC wins and East Mississippi loses, ICC claims the division outright, and Northwest takes the No. 2 seed based on overall record.

In the South, the Co-Lin, Gulf Coast, and Hinds dynamic sets up a dramatic Week 10 clash.

The matchup between Gulf Coast and Hinds will determine a share of the South Division championship alongside Co-Lin. The winner joins Co-Lin as co-champion and locks the No. 2 seed, while Co-Lin retains the No. 1 seed regardless due to its head-to-head win over Gulf Coast.

Week 9 North Division games feature No. 4 Northwest hosting ICC, No. 15 East Mississippi hosting Holmes, Coahoma travels to Delta. In the South, No. 8 Gulf Coast travels to No. 12 Hinds, Jones hosts Pearl River, and Southwest plays East Central, while No. 6 Co-Lin faces Northeast in non-division play.
