For the first time since 2012, GoreSports.net is back: relaunched, refocused, and ready to cover the athletes, coaches, rivalries, and communities that make North Mississippi such a vibrant place for sports. This isn’t just a reboot, it’s a recommitment to storytelling, community coverage, and creating a space for voices that deserve to be heard.
The early stages of this relaunch will be a work in progress, and I’m okay with that. Like any good team, it takes time to build the foundation, find the rhythm, and grow into something special. What I hope you’ll find here (over time) is honest, thoughtful, and passionate coverage.
GoreSports.net was originally built on a deep love for local sports and the people who make them matter. It started as a way to fill the gaps and shine a light where traditional coverage sometimes didn’t reach. That gap has only widened in recent years, and that’s one of the biggest reasons I’m bringing the site back now. There’s a growing void in our sports landscape, and I want this platform to help fill it … one story at a time.

Over time, I want this to become a true hub for Mississippi sports. A one-stop shop. That means not only highlighting the stories I’m covering, but also shining a light on the other people and businesses doing great work in this space. Whether it’s linking to a photographer’s gallery, boosting an up-and-coming content creator, or spotlighting a local business supporting a team, GoreSports.net should reflect the full ecosystem of Mississippi sports.
But this site isn’t just about me. It’s about you: the fans, families, players, coaches, and even aspiring sports journalists. I want GoreSports.net to be a place where young writers can learn the ropes, just like I once did thanks to the mentors who gave me a shot. It’s a way for me to pay forward the help and kindness I received and offer that same opportunity to the next generation of storytellers.
And while high school and junior college sports will always be the heartbeat of the site, you’ll also find the occasional Notre Dame football post and a few unique takes on professional wrestling too.
