“If you work really hard and you are kind, amazing things will happen,” Conan O’Brien.
Those words of encouragement rang true for me Friday afternoon after receiving a phone call from Will Kollmeyer offering me the Assistant Sports Information Director job at Itawamba Community College — a job I happily accepted.
It’s a job that I have dedicated my life to in hopes to one day reach this dream and the Lord has rewarded my faith with that dream becoming a reality.
Another quote that comes to mind when thinking about the recent career move is one from Coach Lou Holtz… “It’s not what you have in life, but who you have in life that counts the most.”
Many of you I have already thanked in person, via phone call, or text message (I still have more of you to thank) but everyone that reads this has played a role in this moment in my life becoming a reality — for that I want to say thank you.
My current plans are to keep the site running while transitioning into the new position.
To God be the glory for blessing me with the new career. I hope that the past 12 years of my life serves as an inspiration for everyone that has a dream, no matter how big or small, to make it a lifestyle and keep a strong faith through the good and bad… amazing things can happen in God’s time.
Awesome news. You deserve it!
Congrats Adam! Its a great fit with your skills and a great institution. Also working with a great guy like Will. Let me know if I can ever help in anyway. Again congrats!
Congratulations! Good luck in your new position. You will be missed in this venue. High school sports in this area has lost a great advocate and journalist.
You deserve the job and more. From a staff member of the W07BN sports crew for the past 6 years and someone who has always admired your work, I wish you good luck, even though you won’t need it. You’ve taught me everything I know about sports broadcasting and more about myself. You’ll do an awesome job at ICC and Mr. Kollmeyer is a lucky to have you. Keep in touch.
Ryan
Congrats, you are truly a great guy. I appreciate all you have done to build up our kids and the positive work you have done. Good Luck! I will miss your site!
