Unofficial word says Sidney cleared by the NCAA

In early September Renardo Sidney was declared “not certified due to non-response” after failing to provide financial documents to NCAA investigations that began when Mississippi State signed him in April.

The documents in questions have since been provided about the financial status of the family living in Los Angeles, California sparked by the families numerous moves in and out of areas that threw up a red flag on their ability to afford to live in those communities.

Don Jackson, lawyer representing the family, met with NCAA investigators and Mississippi State representatives in Montgomery, Alabama this past Friday to provide documents that established income sources and linked all deposits to legitimately earned or borrowed funds.

Jackson stood firm that the NCAA had no evidence to connect the Sidney family to any rules violation and his client should be allowed to play. A source close to the situation has said that the embattled superstar has been cleared to play for the Bulldogs this season.

Albeit unofficial, the news of Sidney’s clearance is expected to put the Bulldogs into National Championship consideration.

More on this news as more information becomes available…

Brad Locke the MSU beat writer for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal spoke with Jackson this morning and files this report at NEMS360.com

Why do I suspect this unnamed source looks and sounds a lot like Donald Jackson?
