Little Mia Lines is only four years old but she’s already tearing up the baselines and getting instruction from a coach who’s guided legendary names like Venus, Serena, Roddick, and Capriati. Hattiesburg American: Carey picks up softball honors
The National Fast-pitch Coaches Association has named William Carey University players Judy Barber and Tan Montgomery as 2009 Louisville Slugger second team All-Americans. Barber, a sophomore from Petal, hit .412 with 17 homers, 12 doubles and 53 RBIs.Montgomery, a sophomore from Tylertown, led the Lady Crusaders with a .471 average, scoring 25 runs and stealing 10 bases. >>> click here to read more.

Monroe360: Leaving the links with lots of gold
Dane Christensen, Barrett Edens and Mitchell Baxter helped Amory golf coach Bradley Parham arrange a mass amount of trophies in front of the River Birch Golf Course sign in Amory last week. The three trophies out front were Class 3A state title trophies from the last three seasons, all won at River Birch. A fourth was a runner-up trophy in 2006.
