Houston’s game plan on Saturday called for playing defense by committee when it came to guarding Bruce’s point machine – Shaunvanta Ingram.

“We’re pretty quick,” Houston coach Bruce Franks said. “We didn’t want to let him get feeling too good about himself. If he does, he can get a basket full.”

Malcolm Stanfield, Kirby Jones, Xavier Cousins and a host of others made Ingram earn every one of his 20 points in the Hilltoppers’ 92-64 win against Bruce in the annual Curtis Loggins Classic.
